Day 4 in Cornwall

Bodmin Moor

About Bodmin Moor:

A granite moorland, many of Cornwall's rivers have their sources here.

Brown Willy and Rough Tor are Cornwall's two highest points at 420m and 400m above sea level respectively.

Dozmary Pool is identified by some people with the lake in which, according to Arthurian legend, Sir Bedivere threw Excalibur to The Lady of the Lake.

Tintagel Castle

The castle has a long association with legends related to King Arthur.

While no concrete evidence links Arthur to Tintagel, the castle's mystique has endured for centuries.

Built in the 13th century by Richard, Earl of Cornwall, possibly to capitalize on the Arthurian associations, the castle ruins continue to captivate visitors with their dramatic clifftop setting.

The site features attractions like Arthur's Footbridge, Merlin's Cave, and the Great Hall ruins, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the legendary atmosphere that has made Tintagel a cornerstone of Cornish folklore and a must-visit destination on any Cornwall road trip.
